Small, pleomorphic rods/ coccobacilli, often showing a predominance of irregular, filamentous forms

smooth or granular, convex, greyish-white or opaque and 0.5mm in diameter after 48hr incubation.

The growth of some strains is enhanced by 5 to 10% CO2.

V-factor but not X-factor is required.
